Everyone meet our next poundie …. Joey!💔♥️ Joey came in from the pound as an unclaimed strayed. He’s a springer spaniel who is around 4/5 years old. This lad has clearly had a sad life as he was massively over weight and very scared of everything when he arrived.💔 It’s clear he hasn’t seen much of the world and everything was very overwhelming. His nails were long, his coat of out of condition and he was obese. He didn’t know how to socialise with other dogs, walk on lead or even begin to trust us.💔😔 However he is a clever lad and quickly started to understand he was safe. He is now walking on lead, loves going in the field on his long line and splashing in the river like a true springer! (Video in the comments)🌊💙 Joey has come along way but still has a way to go. He needs an empathic home with people who have time to help him understand he is safe! As always we are here every step of the way.🫶🏻 This lads temperament is fab. Even at his most scared there’s been no aggression. He went to the vets and passed a full healthcheck, started his vaccinations and has been flead and wormed. Obviously he needs to lose weight as he came in around 30 kg and is now 27.5kg. This lad is already neutered and mircochipped!⭐️ Joey is great in the car, and happily jumps in and out. He is starting to make friends with other dogs now and loves them! He was never aggressive he just didn’t know about socialisation!🐶 He is spotless in his kennels and never makes a mess with his bedding etc. Joey loves to play fetch and is picking up basic commands well. He’s now starting to walk with a wide range of our volunteers without an issue!💕 We are so proud of how quickly he is realising he is safe and can be a dog again! This lad loves his adventures and needs an active home. Someone to keep on top of his exercise and continue his weight loss.
