Everyone meet our next resident …. Harley!💕 Harley came in to our care due to him having fits and the breeder not being able to afford the vet bills.💔 We took him in to our care and the rest was history. On arrival it was clear this lad was suffering from malnutrition and dehydration.💔 He was massive underweight and his blood sugar was dropping so low he was passing out. He went to an urgent experienced foster and that’s where he stayed until stable. Harley was on hourly feeds and being encouraged to drink to ensure we built him up well.🥹 He didn’t want to play or hardly move, he just didn’t have the energy. This was so sad to see as an 8 week old pup should be energetic, curious and playful. Harley was just flat. Thankfully this lad turned a corner and came through the other side. We were lucky to get him when we did or the outcome could have been very different.💔 Harley then went on to his foster home who have a pack of smaller dogs to play with and he’s fitted right in. So much so that he is staying where he is. They are adopting him! 🥰 This is a post for education purposes- please don’t breed dogs if you can’t afford to provide them with the veterinary care they need. Rescues are at crisis point already and picking up the fallout from breeders creates additional cost and stress for us. Also, please don’t breed if you’re not willing to educate yourself on the complexities of raising puppies. With a little education this could have been easily avoided too!🐶 Rescues are on their knees and still squeezing in urgent cases where possible. Vets bills are through the roof and sadly due to the cost of living crisis they have less and less support. Please do what you can for your chosen charity. 🙏🏼
