Everyone meet our next resident…. Bertie!❤️🩹 Bertie is a 14 month old crossbreed who sadly was taken to the vets to be put to sleep due to his behaviour. The family did use a behaviourist however felt they couldn’t keep him. However thankfully the vets reached out to us. Please no negative comments, it doesn’t help the situation. 👍🏽 Since Bertie came into our care, we saw a confused young lad who was also in pain with nasty ear infection. He went straight to foster with one of our behaviourists where he had time and space to decompress and was checked over thoroughly with our own vets ❤️🩹 His ears were so sore, and we really do believe that this was a huge factor in the behaviours described by his previous owners….. mainly resource guarding. However so far we still haven’t seen anything negative from this lad 🐶 Over the time in foster with the behaviourist, Bertie was spotlessly clean, fab over night in his crate, brilliant in the car, loved other dogs, we could do anything to him but his ears were so sore that was the one thing we couldn’t test 😟 However after the vets cleaned and treated them he was a lot better. He was playing more with his toys and socialising more with other dogs. Just generally alot happier.❤️ We are still assessing this lad however he is now in a foster home with a previously adopted resident of Almost Home Dog Rescue and another dog. If all goes well, he will be staying there. For now, we are taking other applications just incase it doesn’t work out. 🤞🏽 Remember to complete the form below if you’re interested in adoption;
