Everyone meet our next resident….. Benji! 💔❤️🩹 Sadly Benji has found himself in our care at the age of 15 years old. His owner passed away and the family rehomed the other dogs he lived with but not him. Likely no one wanted him due to his age and the state he was in.💔🤯 Benji came in to our care, completed his assessment and then went straight to the groomers. He stunk of stale cigarettes, smoke and faeces. The matting was so tight to his skin, he has had to be shaved right down. However we can only imagine how much better he must feel. He looks and smells a lot better too!🙏🏼❤️🩹 Since arriving in our care he has been nothing less than perfect. Benji really does enjoy human company and being around other dogs. He has been spotless in the house and asks to go out!❤️🩹 He is desperate for attention and someone to bond with. Benji has gone straight in to foster where there’s many other dogs and lots of humans to cuddle him. And he’s settled in perfectly!🙏🏼😍 His sight and hearing isn’t as good as it used to be but he doesn’t let it stop him. He enjoys plodding in the garden and going on small walks. He can manage the stairs and will jump in the car to go for a ride which he enjoys! 🚗 Benji had his vet appointment yesterday …..he had his ears deeps cleaned and his lumps checked. Thankfully it seems the lumps aren’t anything to worry about. However we have been advised to keep an eye on some of his warts. He currently weighs 5.3kg and needs a dental!❤️🩹 His fosters have decided that they can’t let him go as he has settled in so well. It would be a shame to move him again at his age. So he now has a retirement home filed with attention and plenty of other canine friends!😁 Thank you Steph for doing an urgent groom on this lad and a huge thanks to his fosters who are now his forever home!😇♥️
