Everyone meet our next resident…. Barney!🧡 Barney was sadly signed over to our care due to one of his owners passing away, resulting in the other feeling it wasn’t fair to keep him. So he came in to us and went straight in to foster!❤️‍🩹 This little lad is nearly 8 months old and is a Maltese cross chihuahua. He’s a lovely lad who’s a little unsure of new surroundings straight away. He will suits a calm but active home. He’s a young dog who needs alot of socialisation and exposure to real life.🫶🏼 Barney is doing well in foster with the other dogs however, he’s always been an only dog and we think he would prefer that. He’s good with dogs when out and about too. He’s housetrained and cratetrained as well.💜 This lad is good in the car and happy to be handled once he trusts you. He was brilliant at the groomers and quite enjoyed the 1-2-1 attention. Due to his breed, he will need regular grooming and this is something possible adopters need to consider.✂️ He is an active lad who’s also clever, therefore he needs mental and physical exercise. Barney is young enough to adapt and learn whatever is needed of him and he would go far in obedience training etc. 💪🏼 Regarding children he has been used to older dog savvy children. He can be nervous to start with so we feel older children only is the best option. He needs to be treated as a dog, who is walked and is not carried. 🐾 Medically he has passed a full healthcheck and had his vaccinations. He’s microchipped, flead and wormed.
