The Ole, Fat Man's Half Million Step Challenge

The ole, fat man is at it again, doing a daft challenge as a fundraiser for Almost Home!

He is hoping to raise enough to cover our January vets bill (£5 – 6k). Every penny raised will be going to the vet's bill. If you are a taxpayer please remember to tick for gift aid.

To try and get you to put your hand in your pocket, he is aiming to walk over half a million steps during February. Averaging 20,000 steps a day, every day come rain or shine. 28 days x 20,000 = 560,000 steps.

No walking inside on a treadmill for this fella, he will be walking outside in and around Loggerheads, Moel Famau & Moel Findeg, the new home of the rescue.

During these 28 days, the ole, fat man will walk up Moel Famau 14 times! If anyone would like to join him to give him a kick up the arse, we will let you know when he is heading up the big hill.

His steps will be measured by his Garmin watch and tracking which is available on this page, thanks to our techy dudes, Dange.

His Labs Charlie & Hudson will accompany him on the local walks, but it will be too much for them to do every walk with him.

Due to the different ways steps are measured we will not know the exact mileage he needs to walk, however we think it will be around 280 miles……. That is equivalent of walking from the Rescue at Loggerheads to Portsmouth or walking to Cardiff and back to rescue!
